Why
Zoë Life?
Open letter from Ms. Krissy
Dear Perspective Parent,
First, I would like to say thank you for considering ZLA as an educational solution for your scholar and family. ZLA is not “private school as usual.” That is because our approach, theories and style is something new. We first believe that every scholar and their family will become a part of ours. You’ll hear our scholars say often, “we are family and friends!” We instill that into everything that we do. We want our scholars to know that ZLA is a place where who they are, and where they come from will be honored and then respected!
As a lawyer, I have gained concentrated critical thinking and analytical skills. The skills I learned as a law student have been woven into our curriculum model. I teach the kids to develop questions and seek out the answers to the content they are learning. You’ll find when our scholars learn “how” to do something they will also learn “why” they do it. They simply won’t know the answer to questions, but, they will learn how they reached the answer and why it is correct. This is the Zoë Way! We use a higher level of thought to teach and guide our scholars to mastery of concepts and skills.
If you decide to make ZLA your home, please know that your scholar will be challenged and loved into success!
If you are still interested, contact us and let’s see if ZLA is a good fit!
With love,
Ms. Krissy
Zoë Life The Therapy Dog
ZLA is proud to announce our newest addition to the family!
Meet 'Zoë Life' the therapy dog! Zoë Life the pup, was born on December 18th, 2021! She is a miniature Goldendoodle and is hypoallergenic (which means she is relatively unlikely to cause an allergic reaction to those with allergies).
Zoë Life the pup joined the ZLA family in February 2022 and has been a great addition so far!
What Is A Therapy Dog?
A therapy dog is a dog who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. From working with a child who is learning to read to visiting a senior assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners work together as a team to improve the lives of other people.
Therapy dogs have been active in schools for some time. Teachers and administrators have witnessed the effects therapy dogs have on students and themselves. There are several benefits:
Social Benefits: a therapy dog promotes greater self-esteem and focused interaction with students and teachers.
Cognitive Benefits: It has been empirically proven that therapy dogs stimulate memory and problem-solving skills.
Emotional and mental health benefits: A therapy dog can lift moods in the classroom, often provoking laughter. The therapy dog is also there to offer friendship and a shoulder to lean on for scholars.
If you schedule a walkthrough or just picking up your scholar, be sure to say hi to ‘Zoë Life’ the pup! She is super friendly and knows no strangers!
Hand of Hope
Scholarships
The Hand of Hope Scholarship is ZLA’s philanthropic arm that aims to provide every student that desires, a chance to receive a quality early childhood education. ZLA accepts State subsidies, but for some families, sometimes that is not enough. We believe in our curriculum model and theories so much, that we have created a way that every child that desires can benefit from it.
The Zoë Way
The Zoë Way is a fresh approach to education!
The Zoë Way
The Zoë Way curriculum model was created by our founder, Ms. Krissy. This theory of learning focuses on teaching a child to be inquisitive and think critically. Our founder is passionate about teaching all ZLA scholars about emotional intelligence, internal motivation, and cultural awareness. The Zoë Way also focuses heavily on language development, reading comprehension, problem solving and analytical thinking.
My Global Adventures
ZLA’s “My Global Adventures” is an educational program filled with fun activities and engagements that increase global access and encourage scholars to excel in foundational learning while having fun exploring the world!
